VMIX CUSTOMISATION GUIDE

We understand that not everyone will know what each of the optional extras will actually add to your vMix rental experience, so we’ve put together a handy guide to break down each component.

CAPTURE CARDS

All of our vMix rigs come with a Datapath VisionSDI2 capture card as standard, however we also have the options to upgrade to a Blackmagic Design Decklink Duo 2 Capture and Playback Card, or a Magewell Pro Capture Quad SDI card.

Datapath VisionSD12 Dual Channel PCI Express Capture Card

The VisionSDI2 is a dual channel PCI express HD-SDI video capture card, supporting SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI (including 2K Digital Film Resolution modes). Delivering extreme performance with 650MB/s transfer bus bandwidth, the VisionSD12 can provide up to 64MB per channel, total 128MB on board frame buffer.

The card provides high performance DMA to system memory or direct to graphics memory with scatter gather, and high quality scaling (7 x 5 Polyphase Filter). A powerful card ideal for use with your vMix session.

BLACKMAGIC DESIGN DECKLINK DUO 2 CAPTURE AND PLAYBACK CARD

Featuring 4 independent 3G-SDI connections, DeckLink Duo 2 is a PCI Express capture and playback card that supports SDI formats in SD and HD up to 1080p60. You get the flexibility of 4 separate capture or playback cards in one! Plus, it’s completely customizable so it’s perfect for media play-out systems, multi screen digital signage servers, real time multi channel capture systems and more.

With the ability to use the SDI ports as inputs or outputs, this card can revolutionise your vMix experience.

MAGEWELL PRO CAPTURE QUAD SDI CARD

The Pro Capture Quad SDI Card from Magewell is a normal-profile PCIe Gen2 x4 card that allows for capturing 4 channels of SDI input. The card supports multiple color sampling modes, 10- and 12-bit color depths, up to 8 audio channels at 48 kHz, and output resolutions up to 2048×2048 with frame rates up to 120 fps. The card is also capable of numerous video processing features, including cropping, scaling, de-interleaving, aspect ratio conversion, color format conversion, video frame rate conversion, and video OSD composition.

Pro Capture Quad SDI Card supports multiple cards per system and unlimited output streams with independently adjustable parameters per stream. Additional features include ultra-low latency, timestamp and A/V synchronization, and LED status indicators. The card supports both Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, multiple APIs for Windows and Linux, and provides Windows SDKs for easier integration.

AUDIO OPTIONS

Adding a soundcard can really boost the quality of your experience, providing multiple inputs and outputs to suit whatever solution you require.

CONTROL OPTIONS

Adding a control option, such as Streamdeck XL, Streamdeck mini or the Korg NanoKONTROL 2, can really give you the easiest possible experience whilst using your vMix rig.

STREAMDECK XL

Creating livestream content has never been easier and with an expanded 8×4 grid, the Stream Deck XL provides a grand total of 32 LCD keys, which are smooth in playback and boast crisp resolution. Take control of the LCD keys as they activate infinite actions with one-touch tactile operation. Get instant visual feedback to confirm your every command and you can easily customize them all with static or dynamic icons. Tap with confidence thanks to a non-slip magnetic stand that holds solid at the perfect angle.

Personalizing the Stream Deck XL is a breeze, simply drag and drop actions onto keys, and assign ready-made icons or create your own. Turn keys into folders to accumulate as many actions as you want. Hotkey actions make keyboard shortcuts a thing of the past.

STREAMDECK MINI

Stream Deck Mini packs the same punch as Stream Deck – good things come in an ultra-compact package. This means you get the same studio-level control to enhance your content. Designed with the utmost convenience in mind, featuring six fully customisable LCD keys prepared to launch unlimited actions. Advanced yet easy-to-use software where you can maximise your content potential and focus on what matters most, streaming to your audience with instant engagement.

The combination of Multi Actions and Hotkey shortcuts featured on the Stream Deck Mini, guarantees efficiency and smooth workflow for your convenience. You can simply assign as many actions as you want to a single key and open them all with a tap, either one by one separated by pauses or instantaneously all together. Hotkey actions eliminates having to remember keyboard shortcuts simply launch apps and websites, open folders, for instant access to control anything you want.

The Korg NanoKONTROL 2 works seamlessly with vMix, providing a great controller to use for lighting, sound and scene cuts. Using a USB midi connection, the faders on the device give effortless transformation of live scenes and can change the look of your show instantly. Easily cut between cameras, and with unlimited mapping capabilities, the Korg NanoKONTROL 2 can truly personalise your experience.

Using the KORG NanoKONTROL 2 will garauntee a smooth workflow throughout the performance, providing ease and efficiency throughout.

OTHER OPTIONS

We can provide a number of optional extra’s to cope with whatever you plan to use your vMix rig for, including Thunderbolt 3, redundant PSU, 1.5kwh UPS and Sennheiser HD25 headphones.

REDUNDANT PSU

A redundant power supply is when a single piece of computer equipment operates using two or more physical power supplies. Each of the power supplies will have the capacity to run the device on its own, which will allow it to operate even if one goes down.

For normal operation, each of the power supplies will provide half (assuming there are two) of the power that is needed. If one is powered off for some reason, the other one will immediately compensate to provide full power to the device so there is no downtime at all.

This can enhance the performance of your vMix machine to create the most seamless operation of all.

1.5kwh UPS

The VFI1000QS provides a high quality stable output voltage waveform. Utilising Voltage and Frequency Independent (VFI) topology the output is fixed and unwavering regardless of the input mains voltage status. In addition protection is provided against the 9 recognised power problems.

The key with the VFI1000QS is that not only does it provide the power protection of an Audiophile grade Regenerator, it does so with the absolute minimum of noise. The Power Inspired ASC fan speed architecture only ramps up fan speed when conditions warrant it. At low loads and temperatures the fans are practically inaudible making the VFI1000Qs suitable for any application where noise is an issue.

SENNHEISER HD25 HEADPHONES

Due to their low weight and the option of one-ear listening, the HD 25 headphones are indispensable for mobile monitoring. The closed-back HD 25 are purpose-designed, professional monitoring headphones offering high attenuation of background noise.

Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and of extremely robust construction, these headphones perform exceptionally well in loud environments, perfect for your vMix experience. These are a pair of true sound professionals’ working headphones.
